Creating Pods

When first creating a new pod, you can select between creating new pods (custom taxonomies) or extending existing (using existing content types from WordPress).

In the case of using existing content types, these are the options that are available.

Once it has been created, simply go add fields to the pod.

Here is a video on creating new pods.

Custom Taxonomy

When creating a custom taxonomy, this is what will be seen instead.

After filling in the different fields, you will then be redirected to the newly created pod. One thing to notice is that after creating this custom Pod, it will have its own label on the left side bar. From here on, simply add new labels and more until you have created the what is needed.
Here is a video on creating custom taxonomy.

Pods Relations

As Pods is a database system, it is possible to connect two pods with each other. These relationships can be both ways or one way. Here is an example of a one way relationship from SLDSW. This is found in the Person pod and each person can be linked to a marriage event. IN the Event: Marriage pod, it is set up the same way
Here are links to a two part video on relationships with Pods.

Short Codes

Short codes are short hands to pods and their labels. They can be used to call templates on pages.

Here is a video on working with shortcodes.
Here is the documentation to shortcodes.

Working with FacetWP

FacetWP can be used alongside pods to create filters and templates.
To use FacetWP with Pods, make sure to include this plugin.
Here is a blog post on working with FacetWP.

Pods Templates

Pods Templates are designed to output content on the front-end of your website (or anywhere you want to use them) by running your posts through them in a loop or once for a single item.
Here is a video on how to create a template.
