When we add any account particularly to department websites, we general will want to use department secretary accounts. All the department secretary account has been created and department secretary should have their accounts. If somehow they don’t have department secretary account information and want you to create one for them, you will need to discuss this issue with your supervisor before you try to create the account.

If departments want to add students’ account to their department websites and grant them certain privileges on their accounts. We usually will let the secretaries do it since they have access to their department websites. If somehow they don’t have access to department websites, we need to get the permission from the department before add the account.

Notes: department secretary account is not secretary’s BYU NetId and is called “Virtual ID”.
